The conversion
decimal hours = hours + (minutes ÷ 60) minutes = round(decimal fraction × 60) 7 h 45 m → 7 + 45/60 = 7.75 7.75 → 0.75 × 60 = 45 → 7:45
Some values do not land on a clean decimal: 7:17 is 7.28333… hours. Two-decimal displays are rounded representations, so totals should always be summed in minutes first and converted once at the end.
